The Legend of Zelda, or simply Zelda, is a series of action-adventure video games produced by the Japanese company Nintendo and created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka.
Since 1986 and the release of The Legend of Zelda on the NES console, nineteen games have officially been part of the saga. Several re-releases, remakes, and derivative games have also been released.
The Legend of Zelda is seen as the genesis of an odyssey, whose scenario will be followed to the letter, with a few exceptions, by the other parts of the saga. Namely: the young hero’s initiatory quest to save the princess from the clutches of evil.
