My Little Pony: Equestria Girls is an animated movie whose main characters are similar to the characters of My Little Pony: The Magic of Friendship, but now in their adolescent phase.
In this story, Princess Twilight Sparkle’s crown, which is an element of harmony, is stolen by Sunset Shimmer, a former student of Princess Celestia in the Crystal Empire.
She disappears in a mirror that takes her to another world, the human world. The crown is significant because the other elements of harmony are powerless to protect Equestria without it.
So Twilight and her talking dog Spike go through the mirror to chase the thief. In the new alternate world, she is transformed into a teenager who must face an even more significant challenge: school.
With the help of her new friends, who resemble those she had in the world of Equestria, Twilight must find the crown and bring it back to her world so that peace can be restored.
Her friends are Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy from Ponyville.
