Christian is an individual who professes to believe in Jesus as the Christ or in religion based on the teaching of Jesus.
The followers of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” in Antioch because their behavior, activity, and speech were Christ-like. (Acts 11:26).
Unfortunately, over time, the word “Christian” has lost much of its meaning and is often used to describe someone religious or has high moral values rather than a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
Many people who do not believe or trust in Jesus Christ consider themselves Christians simply because they attend church or live in a “Christian” nation.
But attending church, serving those less fortunate than oneself, or being a good person does not make one a Christian. A true Christian is an individual who places his faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ.
It is a person who recognizes that He died on the cross as payment for all the personal sins of each one of us and that He rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death, to give eternal life to all who believe in Him.
